Plans Change again - home tonight!

Yep! We arrived at Vancouver at 4:30 local time. Went through immigration and customs with ease. Got our luggage and no boarding passes for Wpg! Talkied to the Air Canada lady and she was nice enough to tell us we had a night with dinner at the Travel Lodge in Vancouver and we would come home mid-afternoon tomorrow.
So I asked what about the 6:30 flight we were booked on? She said there was no more flights. Again I asked what about the 6:30 we had tickets for? She said there was no more flights and then....paused and said well maybe it is full...Then we pulled out the new baby card (it works really well!) and she said let me check again. Oh it looks like there was a mistake! There is room on the 6:30 flight and now we have seats. So we should be home around midnight tonight!
It has been an excellent adventure!

  1. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I'm so excited for your feet to land in Winnipeg and finally be home with your babe! Congratulations, and if you're reading this, welcome home!!! Only a couple of hours to go... I'm thrilled for you. I write this as I sit by Jacob's crib (as he drifts to sleep). My heart swells knowing that you get to experience this too! Welcome home Burtons, welcome home! Can you believe it? Hopefully people will give you the space that you need as you allow Tahlia to settle into her home with her parents, as she explores her territory and learns that you guys are mama and papa and that this is it... the final move into her forever family. Take your time to get to know one another!

    Hugs and much love,
    Amber

  2. How exciting - you are almost home! Can hardly wait to see you and your daughter before you rush off to Brandon. Hopefully after the move things will calm down for you. Also, the revolving front door that seems to constantly have a friend or family member will also pass. I found it was really busy at the beginning but after people meet your daughter, share in your joy, you will have your space back. It is yet another phase of becoming a parent. While sometimes you're tired or just want her all to yourself, you'd also be disappointed if family and friends weren't excited to meet her. You've waited so long to have this little girl - enjoy every minute.

I love seeing all these pictures of you Christine just beaming. You guys are going to make such great parents.
